Mark Neumann, M.Div., M.S-FLE
Pastoral Counselor and Graduate Intern
About Mark: Mark earned his M.Div. in Pastoral Theology at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1991. As a pastor, he has served a variety of churches ever since. In 2000 he earned a Master of Science degree in Family Life Education from Concordia University, Nebraska. From 2003-2006 Mark also studied Organizational Leadership with an outstanding collegial group in the Pastoral Leadership Institute.
A passion for people and a calling from a very young age led to lifelong professional pursuits that touch lives. In good times and in bad, tragedies and triumphs, interest in people has deepened and developed strong, insightful experience in the care and guidance of communities and individuals.
Mark’s ministry experience is diverse. From the first call to a rural multi-parish, he moved on to serve three churches, each with over 2,000 members: a huge campus, a brand new campus, and a multi-campus. Roles in ministry included Sole Pastor, Associate Pastor, Specialist in Marriage and Family Ministry, Department Head, Lead Pastor, and Interim Pastor. Mark has successfully led both small and large church teams, some of which included 100 employees and even more volunteers.
Teamwork in ministry and community involvements shaped a “Bottom Up Collaborative Leader” who inverted the traditional org chart and worked to be responsive and supportive in all facets of team work. People working with Mark are familiar with the “Umbrella of Grace/Mercy” where all team members are encouraged to speak without fear and to accept one another’s ideas in a framework of understanding for effective evaluation. Accountability and integrity round out a style that encourages strong ministry partnerships and healthy team dynamics.
