The Need for Cross Cultural Care
Accepting God’s call to overseas cross-cultural missions service often comes at a significant cost. In this age, the stakes are even higher, the enemy is working hard to thwart the fulfillment of The Great Commission. Crisis and trauma, conflict, burnout, anxiety, depression, difficult transitions, lack of fulfillment, organizational dysfunction, power struggles, loss of vision, alienation and disillusionment are increasingly experienced by those engaged in cross-cultural missions. Many missionaries do not return after their first term.
Of Jesus, it is said, “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.” We specialize in ministering to the bruised reeds and smoldering wicks of the mission field, to help restore them to wholeness and to prepare them to return to proper service for the Lord.
The Minnesota Renewal Center offers services in the areas of preparation, problem resolution, reconciliation, renewal, consultation and training. We serve missionaries, their families, and their churches, organizations and denominations.
In addition, we sponsor the annual Midwest Conference on Missionary Care (MC2), a February weekend event designed to inspire and inform church leaders, mission committee members and those who support overseas missionaries in providing helpful care to missionaries.
